It was a pleasure to meet with Armando Correa de Araujo, head of research and development at ArcelorMittal Mining and Wen Xuan, research engineer in Maizières-lès-Metz. The research and development for ArcelorMittal is based in France, with more than 800 researchers working on steel construction process, car manufacturing and packaging.
Armando was involved in the Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine, one of the largest integrated steel manufacturers (mining, ore processing, metal fusion and rolling plan) in the world with a work force of about 35,000 employees.
A team that combines ERAMET and ATC Williams was selected to participate in the implementation of a new tailings and water management technical solution. Dr Behnam Pirouz, hydraulic engineer and Dr Sadegh Javadi Process Engineer from ATC Williams' Melbourne office are key members of this project team.
