Peru is a thriving place of business with many associations providing frequent networking opportunities in the resources sector. Charles Vuillier, one of our principal engineers visited our local offices earlier this year during which he met representatives from Rio Tinto, Goldfields and Hochschild.
Charles and Barbara Bruno our local office manager attended a conference organised by the Canada – Peru Chamber of Commerce where they were able to chat with Isidro Oyola, General Manager of Yanacocha operated by Newmont. They spoke about his presentation and the reference to significant increases in the life cycle of mines and also Newmont's relocation of its offices to Miami.
During the trip Charles also stopped in Santiago to visit other contacts from BHP, Goldcorps and Teck Resources and discussed innovation in the field of water and tailings management. This was a very good opportunity to keep in touch with local and international consultants and also a great opportunity to meet Natalia Gorrono, Senior Trade and Investment Director for Latin America and the Victorian Government.
