Charles Vuillier, Principal Engineer providing strategic business development direction for ATC Williams attended Mines and Money in London in November 2017. He met a team from the engineering division of ERAMET, and soon after visited Eramet’s office in Garches in the Paris Region. Eramet is a French, mining and metallurgical group that is 138 years old. It is a world leader in alloying metals, particularly manganese and nickel, and in high-quality metallurgy. It has 12,700 employees, with operations and projects in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia and New Caledonia.
During the visit with Eramet, Charles presented on the range of solutions and technologies that are available to the mining industry for the protection of the environment and the conservation of water associated with the management of tailings. This technical share complements the joint project that ERAMET’s engineering division and ATC Williams are working together on at the Arcelor Mittal mine in Ukraine. The combined expertise and resources of these two groups provides our client with the opportunity to exploit the most effective approach to tailings and water management for the project whilst having access to a highly skilled and versatile engineering and procurement group.During the visit, Charles also visited Eramet’s research centre in Hydro and Pyro Metallurgy to meet the engineering team and to understand the scope of their company as well as local and overseas projects.
