In December, Charles Vuillier visited with our Tunisian partner MECATER la Company des Phosphate de Gafsa (CPG), operator of one of the larger phosphate mine in the world. This mine is located in a historical oasis and is home to one of the oldest known human settlements, dating back to 10,000 BC. French involvement working with the Tunisian government to develop this mine extends back as far as 1885.

The visit was the opportunity for a valuable exchange between CPG’s engineering division, MECATER and ATC Williams to review concerns and to develop innovative solutions related to tailings management and the recovery of water, being a precious resource in this part of the world.
