Hernan Vera is a Senior Geological Engineer who joined the ATC Williams team in 2014. Over the last 17 years, throughout Peru and Latin America, Hernan has gained invaluable experience undertaking geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations in a challenging range of geological settings, such as active fault networks and karst formations. Many of the investigations have been in support of technical, economic and environmental studies principally for tailings storage facilities, heap leach pads and the development of open pit mines. This fundamental insight has been paired in almost equal measure with senior roles in construction quality assurance and design implementation teams on an impressive list of benchmark tailings storage projects, including one of the highest embankment dams in the world. Some of Hernan´s specialized know-how includes dam foundation grouting, liner system installation, and filtered tailings "dry" stack construction.
