A career in STEM can take several directions and provide meaningful work experiences.
The ATCW Undergraduate and Graduate Programs offer defined pathways to fast-track your career as a full-time engineer or scientist.
As an experienced or senior engineer, there are many career pathway benefits, such as a Career Development Framework and Health, Safety and Environment initiatives.

– Fast Track Your Future
You can begin from the ground up, like Ranjana Paudel, who joined our undergraduate vacation program in 2025.
Ranjana transitioned to our Momentum Program in 2026, working part-time hours around her study. When Ranjana graduates in July, she is well-placed to fast track a full-time graduate career.

Years in STEM – 1
Country of Birth: Nepal
Degree: Final year of Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours).
Career Advice: Stay strong, stay patient, and keep moving forward. One day, all this hard work will make sense, and you will be proud that you didn’t give up.
Work Tip: Mistakes are a learning opportunity.
Work Perks: It’s inspiring to see women supporting and succeeding alongside each other at ATCW.
Career Goals: My career goal is to become a good civil engineer and, over time, move into a leadership role. I want to build strong technical skills and learn how to manage projects and teams. In the future, I would also like to work in Nepal and contribute to its development.
Role models: My grandfather, a civil engineer in Nepal, worked on many bridge projects, and seeing his site visits and travel inspired my interest in engineering from a young age. I also saw that it was a meaningful and financially rewarding career. He continues to support me by regularly checking on my studies and encouraging me.
My parents are also a great inspiration. As small business owners running a hotel in Kathmandu, they have shown me the importance of hard work, resilience, and independence, which motivates me to pursue my goals with dedication.
