Begin at the Ground Up

Explore multiple service areas and disciplines, including:

  • Civil engineering, construction, investigation and analytic work
  • Design experience in any of our offices
  • Hands-on investigations in our NATA Accredited Laboratory (Melbourne and Newcastle)
  • Site attendance and fieldwork

Our Vacation Placement provides university students with a full-time, fully paid-internship from November to February (in most locations).

The Undergraduate Pathway offers you the opportunity to enter our Graduate Momentum Program, working 1-2 days a week during your final years of study.

‘One ATC Williams’ is a multidisciplinary approach across our offices that ensures opportunities for life-long learning and creates a supportive team-based culture.

Our Undergraduate pathway is unique to ATCW. The elements that define our Undergraduate program are:

  • A balanced exposure to multiple disciplines will help you find your own path and decide where your passions fit best.
  • You will enjoy participating in real-world projects and attend onsite visits, where you will see firsthand how your studies translate into practical applications.
  • You will accelerate your confidence by working directly with our most knowledgeable staff.
  • Your knowledge will be grounded in direct access to senior-level staff and their clients.
  • In Melbourne and Newcastle, you will enjoy a mix of hands-on lab and office work and build a foundation of Geotech know-how.

We seek undergraduates who aspire to apply science-driven engineering solutions to achieve long-term sustainable outcomes.
Applications are open to local and international students, with several opportunities available across Australia.
We welcome undergraduates who are keen to develop skills in these areas:

  • Tailings Engineering and the Mining Sector
  • Environment and Waste Management
  • Resource Recovery and Civil Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Hydrology and Hydraulics, including Dam Engineering

The ATCW Undergraduate Program offers a full-time internship program from November to March at our Brisbane, Melbourne and Newcastle offices and from January at our Sunshine Coast office.

The Undergrad Pathway has two stages:

  • Stage 1: Undergraduate Vacation Placement
    Our Vacation Placement provides 2nd/3rd year university students with a full-time, fully paid-internship from November to February (in most locations).
  • Stage 2: Graduate Momentum Program 
    Upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Vacation Placement, you can choose to work with us one to two days per week while completing your 3rd/4th year studies.
    After completing university, most of our Momentum Program candidates commence full-time positions with us as Level 1 Engineers.

At ATCW we support engineering and science graduates with full-time Level 1 positions and career growth opportunities. Graduates new to ATC Williams can apply at any time.
